The movie action is developed in a parallel reality, in America of 1985. In this world superheroes became a part of an everyday life of a society, and Hours of the Doomsday, having fallen asleep in five minutes from midnight, count time before collision of leading world powers. After murder of one of the former colleagues (Edward Blake / The Comedian) of Walter Kovacs / Rorschach - the superhero never removing masks, - is full of determination to solve this situation.
It begins investigation of the plot, called to destroy or discredit all superheroes of the past and the present. It collects the colleagues - a retired legion of fighters with criminality, but only one of them possesses original force. Gradually Rorshah realises frightening scale of the plot connected with the general past of heroes and promising catastrophic consequences in the future. They store our rest, but who is watching the Watchmen?
