The officer of CIA Claire Stenwick and the agent of service MI6 Ray Koval have left sphere of the governmental investigation to make profit of the cold war storming between two competing multinational corporations. Their mission? To keep as fiduciary the formula which will provide well-being of the first company which have patented it.
For their employers - industrial giant Howard Tully and dishonest businessman Richard Garsik - is not present forbidden methods of achievement of the purposes. But in process of increase of rates, riddles become more difficult, methods - are dirtier; for Claire and Ray the most surprising becomes their growing attraction to each other. And though each of them tries to deal doubly, their ambitious plans fall, as they cannot deceive own love.
